North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, Greensboro, NC, 1988; M.B.A., Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., 1991; financial analyst; business owner; nonprofit spokesperson; professor, City Colleges of Chicago, Kennedy-King College, 2011-2013; professor, Chicago State University, 2013-2015; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Eighteenth and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2023-present).
