ZINKE, Ryan, a Representative from Montana; born in Bozeman, Gallatin County, Mont., November 1, 1961; graduated from Whitefish High School, Whitefish, Mont., 1980; B.S., University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore., 1984; M.B.A., National University, San Diego, Calif., 1991; M.S., University of San Diego, Calif., 2003; United States Navy, 1985-2008; business executive; member of the Montana state senate, 2009-2012; unsuccessful candidate for nomination for lieutenant governor of Montana in 2012; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth and to the succeeding Congress until his resignation on March 1, 2017 (January 3, 2015-March 1, 2017); Secretary of the Interior in the Cabinet of President Donald J. Trump, 2017-2018; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighteenth and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2023-present).
